Kauai is over 5.1 million years old, making it the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands. The legend of Polynesian explorer Hawai’iloa tells the story of how Kauai got its name; the ocean navigator named the island after how a father would carry his favorite child.

Our 3D wood map of Kauai showcases the island’s nearly circular shape and the ocean's topography. A bathymetric map measures the exact depths, which are then laser cut into layers of Baltic birch. Next, an artist glues the layers together to create the magnificent depth our wood charts are known for. The water is hand-stained, and points of interest and roads are etched into the map's surface. A custom wood frame completes the map and gives it a one-of-a-kind look you won’t find anywhere else.

Transport yourself back to the incredible landscape of Kauai with our 3D wood map.
