With its beautiful beaches, Victorian architecture and notable shops & restaurants, Cape May is a vacationer's dream. An island peninsula located off the southernmost point of New Jersey, it is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and the Delaware Bay. This area has a history that dates back as far as the 18th century. The city itself has been named a National Historical Landmark. The main municipalities within the peninsula include Middle Township, Avalon, Dennis Township, Stone Harbor, North Wildwood, West Wildwood, Wildwood, Lower Township, Wildwood Crest, North Cape May, West Cape May, Cape May, and Cape May Point. This region of New Jersey has numerous nature preserves and wildlife refuges and is well known as one of the country’s top birding sites, especially during the spring and fall migration. In fact, it is home to the annual World Series of Birding.
Our beautiful nautical wood map clock of Cape May embraces the beauty of the island in an easy-to-display home decor piece. Each clock begins with a solid piece of hand-stained Baltic birch. An artist uses a bathymetric chart to expertly engrave the topography of the region onto the 3D wood map and then places a piece of birch that is laser-cut in the precise shape of Cape May's coastline onto the clock. The surface of the clock is etched with points of interest, water depths, and other destinations.
